Danica Patrick 2014 Best NASCAR Sprint Year Yet?

Indy Car driver and athlete Danica Patrick has done better than any other woman in American open-wheel racing. She is the only woman who has won in the IndyCar series. She also holds the highest finish record for a woman. That was 3rd place, at the Indianapolis 500. She is also one of the most famous and recognized female athletes in the world, so we consider that she is most certainly a suitable candidate for our famous people blog.

Recent Race History

In 2012, Danica Patrick transferred from the IndyCar Racing Series to race full-time for Stewart Haas Racing, in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in the #7, and part time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in the #10.

GoDaddy.com was the main sponsor for the whole season on both cars. She finished 10th in the Nationwide Series standings with one pole award during the 2012 season. Following that she moved to full time in the Sprint Cup Series in 2013. Go Daddy again sponsored her full season schedule, and their faith in her talents was rewarded when Patrick won the pole for the 2013 Daytona 500
becoming the first woman to do so.

This season in the Sprint Cup Series, she has done well. Patrick has achieved three top-10 finishes in 28 races. While that may not be a statistic normally considered worth celebrating, but it is certainly a big improvement from last year's newcomer campaign, when she recorded only one top 10 over the entire 36-race schedule.

One newsworthy incident occurred in September 2014, when Danica Patrick was involved in an on-track incident with fellow driver, and incidentally her boyfriend, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in the closing laps of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway.

Danic Competing Very Well These Days

The fact is that Danica is doing well as a female race car driver, in this mail dominated sport. She is pretty good at it, regularly finishing races near the top. Most women will also be impressed that she hasn't simply been imitating her male colleagues, she has retained a certain feminine style. She actually looks better than almost anyone else doing it.

The following quote from her a year or so back, shows how much experience of the circuits must help:
"The track is pretty fun,"
she said.
"I remember everyone telling me how unique and challenging Dover was prior to my first race. At the time, I didn't have a whole lot to compare that track to. They said it was like a larger version of Bristol, but I hadn't raced at Bristol yet, either. It's nice to have more of a handle on what to expect heading in there now."
That she is now also cashing in on her own style sense, by offering fashion products from her official Danica Patrick Store. The store stocks Danica Patrick Apparel for men, women and kids. They call it "NASCAR Gear", and the range includes: Danica Patrick T-Shirts, Hats and Sweatshirts. The same store also sells a range of Danica Patrick Diecast Cars, Posters, and Hats etc.

Patrick is described on websites as having begun racing on go-karts with her sister as young as 10, and later dropped out of high school to advance her racing career in the UK.

She worked her way up through a variety of lesser leagues. The pinnacle of her achievement in Britain was finishing 2nd at the Formula Ford Festival. Again, she left her mark in the history books there for achieving the highest-ever finish position by either a woman or an American in that event.

It was back in 2002, that Patrick signed with Rahal-Letterman Racing. That outfit was co-owned by former racing driver Bobby Rahal, and as you might gather from the name, talk show host David Letterman. In two years she raced for Rahal-Letterman Racing, Patrick achieved medium to good success, and was a consistent finisher finding several places on the podium, but winning a race eluded her.

Patrick is no stranger to making headlines as the only woman in this the leagues she has driven in over the years. It was at the Indy 500 in May 2005, that she became the center of attention, as the fastest driver during the pole position/ practice races, and entering the record books as the first woman to ever take the lead in the Indy 500. In fact, she led for 19 laps. So it was that persistence and accumulated experience paid off, and in April 2008, Patrick became the first female to win an IndyCar Series race!

Danica Patrick also teamed up with REVO to sell a collection of sunglasses that reflect her personal taste and lifestyle.

A Chance for Real Success!

Can things really now be coming together for her? She has been looking really good recently (late summer 2014). Is it too much to hope that she might be a real contender in the last races in 2014?

Certainly, 2014 is shaping up to be her best year yet!

Is Miley Cyrus A Bad Girl?

To decide whether Miley Cyrus is a bad girl, in the light of some of her recent performances, we think it is worthwhile spending some time getting to know her life-story so far.

She, first came to fame as the Disney actress and singer who played the role of Hannah Montana. In this role as a teenage girl, she stole the hearts of millions of children all around the world. Her show can still be seen on the Disney Channel.

Miley Cyrus, is of partly Cherokee ancestry, and was born in 1992 in Nashville, Tennessee. Music was always going to be important to her as she was born to parents Leticia "Tish", and Barry Ray Cyrus, and he was a country singer. Miley has five brothers and sisters, two of whom are also active in the music industry.

Miley Cyrus came to fame at such a young age that this may have robbed her of her childhood to a certain extent. However, as such a high profile teenager growing up was never going to be easy. She has done a lot of crazy things that she must now feel embarrassed about. One of the lesser examples might be that as a 19 year old she wore a see-through blouse, and black bra. But, she has also lent her name to a number of good causes and should be proud of joining groups such as the NoH8 Campaign and raising their profile as a result.

In February 2008, Miley Cyrus started doing her own thing, with her friend and backup dancer, Mandy Jiroux. They started producing their own "show." Entitled The Miley and Mandy Show, the teens edit the videos, and "air" them on the popular Internet site, YouTube. This has been popular with her legions of fans.

In the last few years the Hannah Montana actress has begun to cultivate her adult image. The extent that this has been become a sexualized image can be seen clearly in the music video "Can't Be Tamed". As a 19 year old singer she was named as the 64th hottest woman on Maxim's Hot 100. The singer strutted around in a corset style costume. Some on stage outfits from skin tight bodysuits to see through shirts have been described as "really risqué".

She certainly has developed a reputation for exposing a lot of her body when she performs on stage. This has worried a lot of people who have been concerned about the extent to which she will be emulated by her fans. She was, for example, criticized for her provocative outfit and a pole dance during as long ago as the 2009 Teen Choice Awards.

In March 2008 Miley sent talk show host Barbra Walters a golden toilet. The toilet was a replica and not full sized, and it was inscribed: "Barbra, so you will always remember the Cyrus family." This is a little more understandable when you know that before becoming an actress, her previous job was with a cleaning service that included scrubbing toilets.

Maybe this was a hint for what was to come from her in recent months. Few people will not have heard people say; "What's happening to Miley Cyrus?" The cause of this has been the MTV video of her song "Wrecking Balls" is definitely a sensation. It's, a sensation, but not really for its musical content. It features her naked while sitting on a wrecking ball and in a twerking posture.

A two minute short film, titled; Miley Cyrus: Tongue Tied also features the track "Stockholm Syndrome" featuring Zoee. That contains surprising lyrics, such as, "hold me down so it's hard to breathe" and the effect is one of a very adult theme to the video. The film is an art-type film in black and white.

With that sort of publicity, no matter the quality of her music, we can all be sure that Miley Cyrus is not going to be fading into anonymity any day now! With more albums, TV shows and movies in the production pipeline, so it remains to be seen for how long she will continue to show her wild-side.
We are predicting that whatever happens, she will continue to entertain her audiences as "the queen of shock", and go on increasing her list of fans in the near future.

Let's just finish this article with a quote which in our opinion remains true today. Miley Cyrus told the Prestige Magazine, "I'm not a bad girl", in 2011.

Katy Perry From Gospel Singing to Waking up in Vegas

Katy Perry (born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson on 25 October 1984) is a singer/songwriter from Santa Barbara, California, United States. Since the release of her 2007 debut single “Ur So Gay”, Perry has become a super-hot personality, and right now is one of the most actively talked-about people on social media sites. In total she has millions of Facebook “likes”, and is way up there with stars such as Shakira, and Lady Gaga. She is married to British comedian Russell Brand.

Looking back now, it is almost unbelievable that some people wrote her off as a one hit wonder when she released "I Kissed a Girl," but she proved all the doubters wrong with "California Gurls" and "Waking up in Vegas", and those early concert tours which were highly successful.

It seems like most famous people have to start-out in some way which enables them to find their real personality, before they can rise to their full potential. Katy started out as a Christian vocal artist. It was that work which gave her the ability to develop and then change direction, projecting herself as a larger-than-life pop star, bursting on to the scene in 2008.

Greatness is never as sudden as it might appear. It is true that she quickly topped the charts with her songs, like "I Kissed a Girl" and "California Gurls," but in reality she spent nearly a decade before that recording music under a different name. Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (or Katy Hudson, as she billed herself in a 2001 gospel album) was born on October 25, 1984, in Santa Barbara, California.

Home was that of a religious household. She is the daughter of two pastors, and it is said that they forbade her from listening to non-religious bands as a child. We understand that it was at a childhood sleep-over party that a friend introduced her to the music of Alanis Morissette and Freddie Mercury. Religious music, however, continued to be her love during her early career and it was only when she abandoned the genre (and her true surname) to become a pop performer that the world got to know her.

The cheeky singer now counts other great stars such as Madonna and of course legions of movie-goers, as fans.

Katy Perry has a contralto vocal range. In addition to the influences she first came to hear at a slumber party, which we have already mentioned, Perry's musical influences include, pop rockers Cyndi Lauper, Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, and Shirley Manson.

Katy Perry didn’t only become such a sensation through her music, she is also known for her great beauty and sense of style. Tickets for her concerts are always in demand because of her great pop songs and the quality of the performances she gives.

Her fame has spawned a lively trade in such products as Katy Perry costumes and wigs, which are highly sought-after as Halloween costumes. There is plenty of choice for manufacturers to go for because Katy Perry is known for her outrageous outfits and the colorful wigs she sports. Perhaps the top favorites for party-goers are reproductions of the costumes which were featured in her music video "California Gurls."

This has been a great story so far, and a strict parental upbringing certainly does not seem to have harmed her. Indeed it may have contributed much to her character, and success, so it is natural for people to ask her whether there any aspects of her upbringing that were negative, in her opinion.

In answer to that, Katy is reported to have told a Vanity Fair journalist that her strict upbringing "stole her childhood". If that is the case, she is far from unique as a very famous person, and in fact, some might argue that the loss of childhood may be a factor in the craving for fame in her early years which may well have been the mindset that pushed her to keep going, until she did succeed.

Lady Gaga And What Possessed Her And Ultimately Brought Her Such Fame

Lady Gaga is the very epitome of a "rock star", "pop star", and even "electro" superstar. She is the first to be able to span across so many modern music strands and make her mark in all of them.

Mix Blondie's singing appeal with Madonna's showmanship. And, even then you would need to add-in a ton of glitch and a mansion-house full of glitter even to come close to the pizazz of Lady Gaga.

Forget Britney Spears and Whitney Houston, in recent years it has been Lady Gaga that has been blowing away memories of the "greats" of previous generations.

The pop star who takes the eccentric, and somehow makes it work in the mainstream, often really does leave her fans gagging for more. The more extravagant, the more they like them, and we all clamor for more!

"Little Monsters" are what Lady Gaga calls her army of avid fans, and they follow her around the world buying just about everything connected with the singer. The next tier of fans, are her less obsessive fans, and those with an active interest in design and fashion.

If you are looking to start a Lady Gaga memorabilia collection one of the best things to purchase is a Lady Gaga poster featuring her in one of her many wacky stage outfits. These encapsulate Lady Gaga and her image and will no doubt become collectors items in a few years time.

It has to be said that Lady Gaga posters are appealing, because they are attention grabbing, colorful, and make a statement about their owner while hanging on a bedroom wall. That's for sure. Lady Gaga can be relied upon to always look stunning when she is performing on stage. For those that follow fashion trends the Lady Gaga posters of the last few years, will in the future also provide a record of fashion. You can be sure that many people will find them fascinating to look back on in the years to come.

So, that's how we see her now but how did all this come about?

Lady Gaga is an American-born pop singer whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. At first she learnt her skills as a songwriter for fellow artists of her current recording label. That was until she caught the eye of rapper Akon, he soon realized Gaga's voice made her potentially, far more than just a writer. Appreciating her abilities he signed her himself for his own label "Kon Live Distribution".

The rest is history. It gave her the break she needed, and soon she achieved international popularity, and went on with her albums to get a position within the top ten musical performers worldwide.
What is so remarkable is that Lady Gaga is not just a trendsetter in the world of today's pop singers. She also leads in style as well. In fact, Lady Gaga has become a phenomenal modern day superstar, who goes from strength to strength each year, with no sign of a slowdown in her rise to fame any time soon.

Just consider the many awards that Lady Gaga  has won. They span from right across her musical innovations, and include five Grammy Awards, some fifteen nominations and two Guinness World Records.

Lady Gaga is definitely not a one-hit wonder, she long ago proved that. And, it is most likely that because fame for Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta did not come instantly, by the time it did she had honed her skills, through shear grit and determination to succeed, and that quest has made her so much better. Believe us when we say that she has worked extremely hard for her position at the top of the chart. While on the way up she studied her craft, recorded, failed quite a few times, made many sacrifices for the sake of her own principles.

In the end she was "discovered", and finally found the fame that she, and let's be quite open about this, everyone else also wishes for. The difference between people like Elvis Presley and Lady Gaga, and the average person is that they have an uncontrollable drive to be recognized and to achieve success.

They cannot rest until they have been proved right, and have shown everyone that they are different from everyone else, not in a bad way, as freaks, or oddities, but as talented people with an passion for touching the thoughts of every one of us with new ideas and inspiration, and by doing so achieving fame beyond all normal reason.
