7 Travel Tips for Enjoyment and Security

We love taking trips, whether it’s a short road trip, or a longer trip by air to some distant exotic place. But all too often we fail to plan for our trip and the result is frustration and annoyance.

1. For road trips, get the right maps and plan your route thoroughly. Everything won’t go exactly to plan, but at least you’ll have much fewer nasty surprises.

 2. Never, ever make a joke about bombs or terrorists near security at an airport. Many people have jokingly mentioned they have a small bomb in their case as their luggage is being inspected. Later at the police station they deeply regretted their stupidity.

 3. Be immediately suspicious in airports, railway or bus stations when someone bumps into you. It may be a pickpocket. Also be aware if something is spilled on you, or a spot on your clothing is pointed out to you. These things are designed to distract your attention from what is really going on: the theft of your valuables.

 4. While cruises make planning easy with their all in charges, there is likely to be many extra items that you should budget for. These include, taxes, surcharges and fees, tipping, drinks, some shore excursions, shopping purchases, etc.

 5. The most obvious thing to check on before setting off on a foreign trip is the state of the local weather where you are going. You don’t want to arrive in a tee shirt if it’s snowing, or in a fur coat if it’s in the 90s.

 6. When travelling with children bring along recent photos of each one. If a child gets lost, the photo will prove invaluable in helping to locate the child again.

7. A trip to a theme park will suffer from a lack of careful planning. Some parks are so big that planning is essential. Get a list of all the rides and a map of the park, as well as opening and closing times, before setting off.

George Washington 1st US President and Politician (Reluctantly)

We hope you will enjoy watching our video about George Washington, who was the very first President of the United States of America.

Our George Washington video is below. However, to find out more about him, after you have watched the video we recommend that you return here and scroll down the page for more information about him, his family and his amazing career.

He was born on February 22, 1732 in a small County called Westmoreland, located in Virginia. Washington, whose father passed away when he was only 11, was home schooled and learned how to become an expert woodsman and mapmaker by himself.

In 1759 Washington married Martha Curtis, a wealthy widow. Although Washington and Curtis never had children of their own, Curtis had two children, Martha and John, from her previous marriage.

After many years of turmoil between the Colonists and British, Washington was selected as the Commander in Chief of the Colonial Army in 1775. The following year, Washington and the rest of the Colonists declared their independence from the British. After years of fierce fighting and much bloodshed, the British were defeated in 1781. Washington's unique strategies combined with the help of the French, granted the Colonists their independence.

In 1787 Washington attended the Constitutional Convention held in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, where the United States Constitution was first drafted. This Constitution was the main outline for how the government would function. The Constitution was ratified a year later, and went into effect the year after that (1789).

When it was time for voters to choose their first leader in 1789, Washington was unanimously voted in as the first President of the United States. He was also voted in unanimously for his second term in 1792. Although much was accomplished during his 8-year presidency, his most well known accomplishment was that of the Bill of Rights, which was adopted in 1791. Washington declined to serve a third term, explaining in his farewell speech that a third term would give one man too much power.

After retiring from politics in March of 1797, Washington returned to Mount Vernon where he devoted much of his time to farming. Washington's health began to deteriorate severely in mid-1799, and he passed away shortly thereafter on December 14th, 1799, at his home. The cause of death is believed to have been acute laryngitis and pneumonia.

What they are saying about George Washington Around the Internet

Washington was born into the provincial gentry of Colonial Virginia to a family of wealthy planters who owned tobacco plantations and slaves, which he inherited. In his youth, he became a senior officer in the colonial militia during the first stages of the French and Indian War. In 1775, the Second Continental Congress commissioned him as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army in the American Revolution. In that command, Washington forced the British out of Boston in 1776 but was defeated and nearly captured later that year when he lost New York City.

After crossing the Delaware River in the middle of winter, he defeated the British in two battles (Trenton and Princeton), retook New Jersey, and restored momentum to the Patriot cause. His strategy enabled Continental forces to capture two major British armies at Saratoga in 1777 and Yorktown in 1781. Historians laud Washington for the selection and supervision of his generals, preservation and command of the army, coordination with the Congress, state governors, and their militia, and attention to supplies, logistics, and training. In battle, however, Washington was sometimes outmaneuvered by British generals with larger armies, yet was always able to avoid significant defeats which would have resulted in the surrender of his army and the loss of the American Revolution.

In avoiding war with Great Britain, he guaranteed a decade of peace and profitable trade by securing the Jay Treaty in 1795, despite intense opposition from the Jeffersonians. He oversaw the creation of a strong, well-financed national government that maintained neutrality in the French Revolutionary Wars, suppressed the Whiskey Rebellion, and won wide acceptance amongst Americans.[6] Washington's incumbency established many precedents still in use today, such as the cabinet system, the inaugural address, and the title Mr. President.[7][8] His retirement from office after two terms established a tradition that lasted until 1940 and was later made law by the 22nd Amendment. He remained non-partisan, never joining the Federalist Party, although he largely supported its policies. Washington's Farewell Address was an influential primer on civic virtue, warning against partisanship, sectionalism, and involvement in foreign wars. ...via Wiki About George Washington

George Washington (1732-99) was commander in chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War (1775-83) and served two terms as the first U.S. president, from 1789 to 1797. The son of a prosperous planter, Washington was raised in colonial Virginia. As a young man, he worked as a surveyor then fought in the French and Indian War (1754-63). During the American Revolution, he led the colonial forces to victory over the British and became a national hero. In 1787, he was elected president of the convention that wrote the U.S. Constitution. Two years later, Washington became America’s first president. Realizing that the way he handled the job would impact how future presidents approached the position, he handed down a legacy of strength, integrity and national purpose. Less than three years after leaving office, he died at his Virginia plantation, Mount Vernon, at age 67.

George Washington was born on February 22, 1732, at his family’s plantation on Pope’s Creek in Westmoreland County, in the British colony of Virginia, to Augustine Washington (1694-1743) and his second wife, Mary Ball Washington (1708-89). George, the eldest of Augustine and Mary Washington’s six children, spent much of his childhood at Ferry Farm, a plantation near Fredericksburg, Virginia. After Washington’s father died when he was 11, it’s likely he helped him mother manage the plantation. ... via Presidents - G Washington

One of the most popular Presidents of the United States, George Washington is known for leading the Continental Army in victory over the British in the American Revolution. He also was the first President of the United States and helped to define what the role of the president would be going forward.

George grew up in Colonial Virginia. His father, a landowner and planter, died when George was just 11 years old. Fortunately, George had an older brother named Lawrence who took good care of him. Lawrence helped to raise George and taught him how to be a gentleman. Lawrence made sure that he was educated in the basic subjects like reading and math. ... via History George- reluctant-president

On February 22, 1789, George Washington turned 57, knowing he had won a unanimous election as his nation's first president -- indeed, the first popularly elected president in world history. His election, however, presented him and the rest of the nation with an unexpected problem. He was to take his oath of office before the First Congress in, but 10 weeks -- on April 30, 1789 -- and no one knew what to call him.

During the Revolutionary War, Americans called him "Your Excellency" or, more simply, "General," in keeping with customs the world over. But there were no precedents for addressing an elected president. No other nation had ever elected a president. ... via historynet.com

George Washington summary: A name that stands out in US history more than many others is George Washington. George Washington was the first president of the United States. He was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia in 1732. As a young man, he was a surveyor. His military career began with his involvement with the Virginia militia, including a notorious mission he undertook to deliver a message to the French in the Ohio Valley from Governor Dinwiddie; he almost lost his life on the return trip home after he fell from a raft into the icy waters of the Allegheny River. Several years later, he was given command of the Virginia militia forces due to his heroism. He resigned in 1758 and returned to his home, Mount Vernon. He married a rich widow, Martha Custis, later that year.

While Washington focused on his farming for the next few years, eventually expanding his 2,000 acre farm to 8,000 acres, he also became involved in politics. He was elected into the Virginia House of Burgesses, and in 1774, he was one of Virginia’s representatives in the Continental Congress. When the Revolutionary War began, Washington became the Continental army’s commander in chief. He was elected as the first president of the United States in 1789. Washington laid the foundations for the role of a president during his first term; he served a second term, during which his focus was foreign affairs. He refused a third term, and retired to Mount Vernon in 1797; he died two years later. ...via

Most people know him best as the first president of the United States, from 1789 to 1797. But the list of his accomplishments is long. Washington commanded the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War. He led the American colonists to freedom from British rule. He was also president of the convention that created the U.S. Constitution.

In his private life, Washington owned a large whiskey distillery and thousands of acres of land. He operated a large and successful farm. When the Revolutionary War was over, General Washington wanted to go home to his Virginia estate, called Mount Vernon. via millercenter.org

British Actor Colin Firth Turns Italian & Plays with Elton's Costume + Top 10

Colin Firth is in the news for several reasons at the moment. On the first announcement that he is becoming an Italian citizen, due to Brexit fears, would at first seem to suggest that he has gone off the rails. Others would say that to hold the same nationality as his wife is just a sensible precaution whether or not Brexit were to be happening.

Our first headline explains Colin's move to become an Italian, and the second piece of news which rotates around Colin Firth is what he did with Elton John's  costume (Scroll Down to read)!

British actor Colin Firth becomes an ITALIAN CITIZEN after being ‘horrified’ by Brexit

The famous British actor Colin Firth has confirmed that he has decided to become an Italian citizen as he has been ‘horrified’ by Brexit.

This has been made possible as he is currently married to an Italian lady, Livia Giuggioli, and he says that the current circumstances made this a sensible decision.

The couple have two sons, and they divide their time between homes in West London and the Umbria region of Italy.

According to a report in the Daily Mail:

In a statement, the 57-year-old said: ‘With some of the uncertainty around, we thought it sensible that we should all get the same.’

A source previously revealed to the Daily Mail: ‘Colin was horrified by Brexit and is worried about the consequences.’

Firth began to learn Italian after he started courting Livia and speaks the language fluently.
In an interview with an Austrian newspaper last autumn, he said of Brexit: ‘For me this is a disaster of unexpected proportions. Brexit does not have a single positive aspect.

‘Many colleagues, including Emma Thompson, are, like me, enthusiastic Europeans, and we still cannot believe it.’

Despite growing up in the picture-postcard village of Grayshott, said to have inspired sets for the BBC’s Lark Rise To Candleford, Firth has said he does not consider himself rooted in Britain. via British actor Colin Firth becomes an ITALIAN CITIZEN after being ‘horrified’ by Brexit

What Colin Firth did with Elton John's costume in 'Kingsman' sequel

Academy award-winning actor Colin Firth has spilled the beans on what he did behind Elton John's back.

Days after the debut of the spy comedy film "Kingsman: The Golden Circle," Firth, together with other lead stars Taron Egerton and Mark Strong, gamely shared with ABS-CBN News in Seoul, South Korea just what happened both on and off-screen in this gutsy, cartoonishly violent and bodaciously entertaining sequel.

All three actors agreed that Elton John stole the show but what was more surprising was Firth's revelation.

He said: "I tried on his costume when he wasn’t looking. We were on the set doing the scene in the bowling alley, and he was wearing those feathers, and when he wasn’t there, the costume was hanging up. I just couldn’t resist it".

The actor, who plays British superspy Harry Hart, also teased that since the secret is out, he may just have to share the photo. via What Colin Firth did with Elton John's costume in 'Kingsman' sequel

When to Turn On the Heating for Winter - The UK Nation Debates and Families are split by their opposing opnions, during cold 2017 September, in the UK.

The debate about when to turn on heating, will also be of interest to people who enquire by asking: "When is it cold enough to put the heating on", or "how cold before you put heating on". The subject of heating season months, is also one of when to turn heating off in spring. In fact many people ask "when to turn heating off uk", but this video does not address that point just when to put heating on in the autumn.

It is also interest to think about "when do people start putting heating on", and the energy companies tell us that a lot of people feel cold while it is still warm in the summer months simply because there are a few days of colder weather.

The issue of which are the UK central heating months is always hotly debated in families, but it is rare that so many people have their heating on in September as has happened in the UK this year (2017).

To sharpen your skills, or to learn how to look your best, read these tips.

1. Sunscreen for Skin Care

Wearing sunscreen is a fool-proof way to protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays.

When selecting your sunscreen, make sure you choose one with healthy ingredients and antioxidants.

You can keep your skin looking younger and firmer with the right rich protecting ingredients.

2. Avoiding Dry Skin

Keep a moisturizer on hand to keep your skin looking fresh.

Cracked skin can occur, especially in the winter, giving it an unattractive appearance.

By keeping your skin constantly moisturized you will prevent the dryness, and its subsequent cracking and breaking.

3. Keep Your Body Hydrated

Water is very important when it comes to glowing skin. Skin suffers when dehydrated and looks dry, dull and wrinkly.

To combat dehydration and dried out skin, drink eight glasses of water every day. A bit of juice or a wedge of citrus fruit may make it tastier if you do not like plain water.

This is a tremendous gift to your skin.

4. Nail Care

Do your nails always get scratched and chipped after you paint them?

Try a top coat, which will help your nails stay shiny and glossy for up to 7 days!

Erica Mena Bow Wow Row - The Latest Shad Moss Relationship News and Past Shading

In the Erica Mena Bow Wow Row it seems that there is never a dull moment. This celebrity fall-out has been blazing simce the start of the autumn and shows no signs of abating despite the planned marriage having been called-off.

So many accusations and counter claims have been flying between Erica Mena and Shad Moss (A.K.A. Bow Wow), that it is becoming quite hard to remember who said what and when.

For that reason, we thought we would put together a number of the most recent new stories in order to make things clearer. Read on if what we are calling the " Erica Mena Bow Wow Row" relationship battle fascinates you as much as it does us:

Erica Mena Has More to Say About Bow Wow….Again…

Reality star Erica Mena is now thanking God for removing her from an engagement to rapper and tv host, Bow Wow, saying that God kept her from making poor decisions when she didn’t “know any better.” She broke off an engagement with Bow Wow in September after he criticized her for making her miscarriage so public.

“First and foremost, I feel like telling your personal business on social media, I feel like that’s one of the lamest things you could possibly do,” Bow Wow wrote on his Instagram account. “I feel like it’s attention seeking, especially when it’s news that happened five months ago. It’s not recent, it’s five months ago.

“You don’t wait till now, do it when it happens. Five months ago, this ain’t nothing new,” he added.

One of Mena’s posts that incited the response from her former fiancĂ© said, “Though you lived in me only 4 months, you were loved so very much. I wish that I could hold you, I long to feel your touch. On that day, my world was ripped from under my feet. I pray that in another life, we get the chance to meet again.”

Three months later, preparing to enter into the New Year, Mena says that the relationship was a mistake and something that she is glad didn’t pan out.

“I want to thank God for all the things that didn’t happen,” Mena wrote, obviously referring to her recent engagement to Bow Wow. “Thank him for all the things that he stopped since I didn’t know any better.”

“I made some stupid decisions this year, man. But seriously, one decision I did make instantly elevated me and my life, so please trust your gut,” she added.

Though Mena says she has regrets from 2015, she is proud of herself for pressing through and “outgrowing” the things that were weighing on her.

“So proud of all the things I’ve outgrown that once weighed me down,” she said in her New Years post on Twitter. “The people as well … These last two months have been so A1 and real. Perfect timing and the perfect way to soar and get all that’s mine. It’s really simple. If they love you, you’ll know it. If they don’t, you’ll constantly wonder if they do. A year of great mistakes. 2015 forgive me.” via Erica Mena Has More to Say About Bow Wow….Again…

So, that brings us up to date with what Erica is feeling about the whole Bow Wow affair, right now, and the latest news is really a surprise as it involves her breasts:

Bow Wow's ex-Fiancee Erica Mena Gets Breast Implant Reduction

The reality star shared a photo of herself after her doctor's appointment. She got her giant implant removed and replaced it with a smaller and much more natural looking one. via Clairedeo

Awesome, Mena! You have the body you want and stop concerning yourself about what men might prefer.

Erica Mena & Bow Wow Split: Reality Star Says There’s Proof of Abuse

What could’ve been a clean break between Love & Hip Hop alum Erica Mena and ex-fiancĂ© Shad “Bow Wow” Moss has gotten messy… and it appears it’s getting even messier.
Though Erica revealed the couple’s split was the result of Bow’s abusive nature, infidelity on Erica’s part is the latest rumored cause of their relationship’s demise. Making the rumor all the more juicier is the claim Erica got pregnant during her affair and, once Bow learned of her cheating ways, he kicked her to the curb.
But Erica is not willing to let idle gossip go unchecked. She put Shad on blast on Twitter for perpetuating the false story, and threatened to expose evidence of his abuse.
Mena may have left Love & Hip Hop, but is seems like her current situation is almost as dramatic as the reality show! via Erica Mena & Bow Wow Split: Reality Star Says There’s Proof of Abuse

Erica Mena Won't Be Happy When She Hears Who Bow Wow Is Hooking Up With | News

Shad Moss is wasting no time getting over Erica Mena after their messy breakup, and he's not trying to hide it, either. The rapper and host has been spotted looking pretty thirsty in his baby's mother's Joie Chavis's Instagram comments, pretty much proving that there's something going on between these two.
Yesterday, Chavis posted a provocative selfie wearing a pair of very, very tight white shorts and cupping her breast. Her followers caught this flirty jab from Bow Wow buried in the comments: "So we posting the same pics you sending me huh? Hahahah."
And, at the New Year, this was Bow Wow's view:

Well Damn! Bow Wow Drags the Hell Out of His Ex Fiancee Erica Mena at NYE Party

Last night celebrities and the rest of the free world celebrated the close of 2015 with a number of epic bashes to bring in the New Year. However all were not singing messages of positivity, such as Bow Wow who was more so spewing hate on the mic at the party he hosted when he referenced his ex saying, “I don’t care about no broads from 2015,” Bow Wow said to the crowded room. “Shade Room, I know y’all here – don’t ask me about that crazy b*tch! … F*ck them reality shows, n*gga! We done with these reality b*tches, we done with that sh*t!” He high key went off on her….sheesh. via Well Damn! Bow Wow Drags the Hell Out of His Ex Fiancee Erica Mena at NYE Party [VIDEO]
